The Richard Schultz 66 Collection, designed in 1966 for Knoll, was created to withstand the corrosive seaside environment at the request of Florence Knoll. Schultz, known for his modernist sensibility, combined sleek aluminum frames with weather-resistant mesh and materials, resulting in elegant yet durable outdoor furniture. The collection, which includes lounge chairs, dining tables, and chaises, became iconic for its light, airy design that complements natural surroundings. After leaving Knoll, Schultz and his son reissued the line through their own company in 1992. Knoll later reacquired the Schultz company in 2012, bringing the collection full circle to its original roots.
