Early Pair of vintage rosewood lounge chairs & ottomans arrived in used worn and torn condition. Used every day for over 40 years. Ready for the next 40.
Imaging bright white vinyl, not even leather….why?
That’s how this set arrived
We left the patinated steel work alone and upholstered in a gorgeous Rose Tarlow leather.
Elegant and industrial
We would love to know the manufacturer of this set. Arrived at shop in ‘Granny’ mode and left looking sharp.
Neat feature is the weighted headrest cushion.
Designed and manufactured off Crenshaw Blvd. Torrance California in the 70’s.
These three had definitely seen a few parties.
“High ball scotch on rocks anyone”?
1970’s Eames knock off
Perfect wood, perfect bases & perfect leather……it just looks right.
It was decided by the lady owner that after over 40 years of having a dark grey chair in her living room that the time had arrived to liven it up.
I think she hit the nail on the head to say the least.
Maharam hallingdal fabric is the perfect choice for this vintage ‘as-is’ look.
Over the years we have restored a few dozen of the PlyCraft chairs but this one in particular has a cool story behind it.
A young lady delivered just the lounge chair to the shop and told us that it was her fathers and was one of the few things that he had managed to save after Katrina.
The chair was absolutely thrashed and the ottoman was gone.
A matching ottoman was found before we under took the complete restoration, thereafter we completely went to town.
When our client came to pick up the lounge & ottoman her face was a picture to say the least, just a few tears.
A few weeks ago we were asked if we could upholster & refinish a couple of beds.
The answer was yes and the rest is history.
I don’t think you’ll find these at Restoration Hardware.
A day away from landfill.
Couldn’t believe my luck when i noticed this beautiful unit.
It had been used to keep gardening tools, flower pots and rat poison for decades.
No 1st-Dibs for this one.
Straight forward restoration:
Fiberglass shells stripped, repaired
